Trying to Be an Artist, Part 2

If any of you were paying attention last week, you no doubt saw my post about my attempt to draw a cover for the special edition Black Santa’s Revenge mini-comic. Directly above you can see the progress I’ve made. The pencils were not completely terrible, so I decided to move forward with inking. As you can see, the inking is terrible. For one thing, I realized I no longer have any decent pens or brushes, and as a result this was inked with an ultra fine and fine point Sharpie. Stop laughing. Fortunately, I had the foresight to not ink directly over the pencils, and instead used a piece of velum paper (otherwise I’d have been screwed). Then I tried to color it in Photoshop. Well, I don’t need to tell you that the coloring is terrible. In my defense, however, this was the first time I’d ever used Photoshop to do anything like this, and I realized about five minutes into the process that I have no idea what I’m doing. Oh well. I guess it’s back to the drawing board.
